Program Description

The Operational Excellence (OPX) Boot Camp is an intensive and interactive 2-day program. Participants will learn to apply lean thinking, process improvement & change management strategies to increase operational efficiency within an organization. Through case studies, exercises and simulations, participants will be able to apply the concepts, tools and processes learned to real-life workplace situations.

Participants will learn to

  • Develop a strategic, systematic approach for evaluating and addressing operational opportunities for improvement within a care setting
  • Integrate quality, safety, and transformation/change management tools to promote productivity and efficiency
  • Develop an approach for strategic execution of high priority opportunities
  • Distinguish and leverage key elements of leadership to develop high-performing teams
  • Identify different personal communication styles to improve communication skills within a team or organization

Day 1: Overview and application of core OPX improvement strategies and tools
Provides a foundation of evaluation and issue identification, and process improvement strategies and tools 

Day 2: Driving Change- tools, strategies, and techniques to build high-performing teams, facilitate change, and become an effective leader
Expands upon the OPX improvement strategies learned in Day 1, with effective ways to facilitate rapid improvements through teams; build a robust change management strategy; and identify ways to augment personal leadership style. This session includes a discussion based on 

Following the Boot Camp, participants will have the opportunity for mentored coaching calls with faculty to discuss specific improvement projects/ initiatives they are implementing.

The Program will feature:

  • Sessions include interactive discussions, case studies and real-world workplace examples.
  • Network with and learn from other participants facing similar challenges.
  • Come away with the skills and knowledge to help focus your organization’s quality and safety efforts.
  • Online access to coursework and materials, during and for 6 months after the program.
